1. Who we are
Moolah Media is a restaurant search and local SEO consultancy operating in Ireland. For information collected through this website, Moolah Media is the data controller. Our current business details are listed at the end of this page and will be expanded if and when the business incorporates.
The clearest route for any privacy question is email — we answer them ourselves rather than routing them through a ticketing system.
2. What we collect
Visibility audit and enquiry details. These are the fields the forms on this site actually ask for — nothing more:
- Restaurant name
- Restaurant website
- City or area
- Number of locations
- What you want search to do for the business
- Package you are curious about (optional)
- Anything else you want to tell us (optional)
- Your name
- Your work email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- Your role (optional)
Website usage information
If, and only if, you allow analytics cookies, we record how the site is used: pages viewed, the general route through the site, scroll depth on articles, which calls to action are used, approximate acquisition source and any campaign parameters in the link you arrived through, plus general device and browser information supplied by your browser.
Personal details are removed before measurement is sent: names, email addresses, phone numbers, restaurant contact details and free-text answers never reach analytics. We do not collect precise location, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Technical and security information
Our hosting infrastructure processes limited server and log information — such as request details and IP address — as an unavoidable part of delivering the website. It is used for security, spam prevention, diagnostics and reliability, and is retained only for a short period by the provider.
3. Why we use it
- To assess your restaurant's visibility, prepare the audit you asked for, and reply to you.
- To deliver and manage services if you become a client.
- To keep the website secure, prevent abuse and spam, and diagnose faults.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it — only where you have consented to analytics.
- To send occasional insight emails — only if you separately and specifically ask for them.
- To meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations.
4. Lawful basis
Different activities rely on different lawful bases. Consent is not used as a blanket basis for everything — it applies to optional analytics and optional marketing email.
4. Lawful basis| Processing | Lawful basis |
|---|
| Responding to a requested visibility audit or enquiry | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries |
|---|
| Providing services to a client | Performance of a contract |
|---|
| Accounting and tax records | Legal obligation |
|---|
| Keeping the website secure and available | Legitimate interests in protecting the website and preventing abuse |
|---|
| Analytics cookies and measurement | Consent |
|---|
| Optional email updates, if you ask for them | Consent |
|---|
5. Marketing communications
Requesting an audit, downloading a checklist or sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to anything. Marketing email is entirely separate: it requires a specific, optional, unticked opt-in, and it is never bundled into a form submission or into acceptance of any terms.
If you do opt in, every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw by replying or emailing us. We keep a record of when consent was given or withdrawn so we can honour it.
6. Who information may be shared with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertising networks. Where service providers are involved they only receive what they need for their role, and act on our instructions:
- Website hosting and infrastructure providers
- Email delivery and business email providers
- Analytics providers, where you have consented to analytics
- Customer relationship / enquiry management tools, if and when one is in use
- Professional advisers such as accountants or legal advisers, where necessary
7. International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism — for example an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses — depending on the provider. We are finalising this documentation with each provider as part of our pre-launch review, and can tell you the position for a specific provider on request.
8. How long we keep it
We do not keep personal information indefinitely. Where a period is still being fixed, we apply the criterion of keeping information only as long as it serves the purpose it was given for.
8. How long we keep it| Information | Retention |
|---|
| Enquiries that do not become client work | Kept only as long as needed to follow up, then deleted. The exact period is being set as part of our pre-launch review. |
|---|
| Client records | For the duration of the engagement, and afterwards for as long as contract, accounting and tax rules require. |
|---|
| Records of consent (cookies, email updates) | For as long as the consent is relevant, plus a reasonable period to evidence when it was given or withdrawn. |
|---|
| Analytics measurement | According to the retention setting configured in the analytics tool. Analytics is only collected where you have consented. |
|---|
| Server and security logs | Short-term only, as generated by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics. |
|---|
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given. Not every right applies in every situation, and we will explain if an exception applies.
Email us and we will respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is clearly excessive or repetitive.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission — current contact details are published at https://www.dataprotection.ie.
11. Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means. Enquiries are read and assessed by a person. Routine spam filtering and simple internal prioritisation of enquiries are used to organise our own follow-up; they never decide whether you can obtain a service.
12. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information: encrypted connections, access limited to those who need it, and deliberately minimal data collection so there is less to protect. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
13. Changes to this policy
The date at the top of this page changes only when the content materially changes, not on every website update. If a change affects how optional technologies are used, we will ask for your cookie choices again.
